Some mornings are meant for lingering—a warm cup in hand, the quiet hum of the world waking up, a stolen taste of something sweet.

Nana Hunny Bear’s Morning Tea is a love letter wrapped in golden honey and soft brushstrokes, an ode to my Nana Bette Esposito—brilliant artist, tea lover, and the heart of so many of my fondest memories. In this whimsical, painterly illustration, our gentle bear, dressed in her bonnet and nightgown, greets the day the way Nana would—letting the warmth of her tea and a touch of sweetness set the tone.

This piece was a labor of love. After earning a Merit in American Society of Photographers’ Images of Distinction, I reworked every brushstroke—the hat, the gown, the paw, the mug, the tree, the leaves—pouring in days of dedication before sending it to Professional Photographers of Massachusetts, where it scored even higher and earned another Merit. And now, she’s finally ready to make her debut beyond competition.
